Background Screening

In order to better ensure the safety, and welfare of our students, criminal background checks must be run on all volunteer mentors participating in the mentoring program. Mentors will use the secure services of INTELLICORP to electronically enter their data into Intellicorp secure server and submit their information directly to the investigative agency. Intellicorp ONLINE PORTAL is EASY AND SIMPLE TO USE.

At this time all mentors are required to pay for their background check and the cost is $15.95 if residing in South Florida.

Scholar Career Coaching partners with Intellicorp Records Inc. for our criminal background checks. When you submit the electronic authorization, Intellicorp conducts a national criminal file search. This search will not reveal any credit or financial information and is compliant with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) guidelines. Upon completing this search, Intellicorp passes on the results to our organization, along with the other information you submit in the authorization section portal.

If a criminal background check reveals a criminal history for an individual, the results will be reviewed and evaluated us. We are screening for offenses that would be relevant to providing a safe environment for the student. Generally, no person convicted of a felony may participate in this program as volunteer.

Criminal background checks can take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours. The records are stored electronically at Intellicorp.net. If you are interested in more information regarding the procedures and the integrity of our provider, we encourage you to visit their website at www.intellicorp.net.

Only the management of Scholar Career Coaching will have access to the results of background checks. This information will not become public knowledge.

Criminal history information will be used only for the purpose of evaluating the person ability to work with students.

If you are having technical problems submitting the authorization, you can email us at info@scholarcc.com for assistance. If you do not wish to complete the background screening, you will not be able to serve as a volunteer mentor.
